Is your dream home eligible for the program?
All homes purchased through the Program will be inspected before purchase at no charge to the participant. In order to be eligible for funding, the home must be in good condition at time of sale; no "handyman specials" may be purchased with Program funds. A portion of the assistance may be available on a case-by-case basis for immediately needed repairs and modifications.
Many types of properties are eligible for program funding. Double-wide mobile homes on a
permanent foundation; condominium, cooperative and townhouse properties as well as single-family homes may be
purchased through this program. Dwellings designed to accommodate more than two households are not eligible for program funding. A duplex or home with an appartment is eligible, however rental income will be counted in the household eligibility calculation.
We do not encourage first time homebuyers to look at houses before attending
the workshop. To go through the program takes three months on average, at which
time the house may no longer be available. We cannot assist homebuyers who
already have a purchase offer on a house prior to entering the program.
